Mozart's birthplace, the house in which Mozart was born is today one of the most frequently visited museums in the world. No other place makes the person behind the artist Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and his music as palpable as his birthplace.

The special exhibition “Leopold Mozart: Musician – Manager – Man” shown at the Mozart residence until 9 February 2020. Leopold Mozart was one of the most versatile personalities of his time: composer, court musician and violinist, deputy conductor, educator, sponsor of his talented children, writer and scholar, excellent letter writer, loving husband and caring - sometimes preaching - family man, sociable host, networker, organiser, travel manager and concert organiser, provocative subject, free spirit and man of the Enlightenment… The exhibition marking his 300th birthday investigates all of these - some still unknown - aspects through valuable letters and musical autographs, prints, documents and pictures.


  • Multivision show on Mozart's life at the Mozart residence. And the mobile phone quiz at Mozart's birthplace makes a visit even more exciting - especially for children and young adults.

  • Mozart residence and Mozart´s birthplace: Wednesday - Sunday 9.00 a.m. - 3.30 p.m., last admission 3.00 p.m.; closed on Monday and Tuesday
