Accessibility statement

ÖBB-Personenverkehr AG endeavours to make its websites accessible in accordance with the Web Accessibility Act (WZG), as amended, which transposes Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 October 2016 on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies (Official Journal L 327 of 2 December 2016, p. 1), as well as with the Accessibility Act (BaFG), which implements the European Accessibility Act, Directive (EU) 2019/882 on accessibility requirements for products and services (EAA).

This accessibility statement applies to the website https://www.oebb.at

Extent of compliance with requirements

This website is partially compliant with level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines WCAG 2.2 and with the applicable European standard EN 301 549 V2.1.2 (2018-08), due to the following non-compliances and exemptions.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons:

  • Interactive components are not sufficiently spaced or do not meet the required minimum target size. Success Criterion 2.5.8 Target Size (Minimum) (WCAG 2.2 AA)
  • The keyboard focus may be completely obscured in some instances and therefore not visible. Success Criterion 2.4.11 Focus Not Obscured (WCAG 2.2 AA)

Disproportionate burden

Content outside the scope of the applicable legal provisions

Content or components and services of third parties, for example links to payment providers for online bank transfers, or other third-party companies that are outside the control of ÖBB-Personenverkehr AG, are outside the scope of Directive (EU) 2016/2102. No statement can be made regarding the accessibility compliance of such third-party content.

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was first drafted on 16 November 2020. We undertake to update it on an ongoing basis as we implement improvements for our customers.

The assessment of the website’s compliance with the WZG, which implements the requirements of Directive (EU) 2016/2102, as well as with the Accessibility Act, was carried out by means of an external audit against WCAG 2.1 at conformance level AA. The purchase, collection and cancellation of tickets, season tickets and shop products, as well as the display of information about a purchased journey, were reviewed as part of the WACA certification; see the Audit Report. The page content across the entire application is subject to ongoing changes and enhancements. Accordingly, employees review them on an ongoing basis. The reviews are conducted in particular by blind employees.

This statement was last updated on 8 December 2025.
