Whether commuting, travelling for leisure or on business, ÖBB trains offer a choice of different travel classes, which vary in terms of amenities, space and services. Standard Class, First Class and Business Class offer different levels of comfort for train travel.
Travelling in comfort in Standard Class
Standard Class (Economy Class) offers comfortable travel on modern, air-conditioned ÖBB trains. Depending on the train type, modern furnishings with ample space are available for commuting, private journeys and leisure travel. Comfortable seats, handy storage spaces and useful services provide the ideal conditions for reading, working or relaxing during your train journey.
Many trains, including the ÖBB Railjet, also have dedicated areas for different travel needs. While passengers are asked to be considerate in the Quiet Zone, the Family Zone is the perfect place for travelling with children, with plenty of space for laughing, playing and spending time together.

First class: More space and more peace and quiet
First Class offers more legroom and greater seat spacing. In the open-plan carriage, 2+1 seating provides additional space. Each seat has its own power socket. Food and drinks from the on-board restaurant can be served directly at your seat on request.
Business Class: focused work while travelling
Business Class provides a comfortable workspace on board, with the most space between seats, individually adjustable leather seats, an included seat reservation and a welcome drink on routes within Austria. The quiet setting is suitable for making phone calls, reading and working during the journey. Business Class can be booked as a supplement to a First Class ticket.
Quiet Zone: uninterrupted travel and work
The Quiet Zone provides a dedicated area for a quiet train journey. The designated areas are available on Railjet trains in First and Standard Class. Many Eurocity and Intercity trains as well as ICE trains also have comparable quiet areas. Simple rules apply in the Quiet Zone: speak quietly, set mobile phones to silent and listen to music only with headphones.
