Der Wappensaal im Landhaus Klagenfurt

Coat-of-Arms Hall at the Landhaus Klagenfurt

Discover one of the country’s most important historical landmarks

The large Coat-of-Arms Hall at the Landhaus that comprises 665 coats of arms as well as the “Fürstenstein” is one of the most important time certifcates of Carinthia. Josef Ferdinand Fromiller, the best known Carinthian baroque painter, designed the coats of arms for countless princes and aristocratic families with great handicraft precision and in baroque opulence, creating one of the most beautiful and impressive halls in Carinthia. In the new permanent exhibition “Gateway to Democracy” in the foyer of the Coat of Arms Hall, visitors can experience the “cogs” and the power of democracy as a tool.
