ÖBB operates 4 S-Bahn lines in Carinthia
Line S1
- Pusarnitz - Villach - Klagenfurt - Wolfsberg
The S1 runs between Spittal-Millstättersee and Wolfsberg every half hour on weekdays, except Saturdays, when it runs hourly from Pusarnitz.
Line S2
- (Klagenfurt Hbf) St. Veit a.d. Glan - Feldkirchen in Kärnten - Villach Hbf
The S2 runs daily every hour between Klagenfurt Central Station and Villach Central Station via Feldkirchen from 5:35 a.m.
Line S3
- Klagenfurt Hbf - Weizelsdorf
The S3 runs every hour on weekdays except Saturdays between Klagenfurt and Weizelsdorf, and every two hours on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. In Weizelsdorf, there are direct connections and transfer connections to regional buses. There are exceptions to this during the morning rush hour.
Line S4
- Villach Hbf - Arnoldstein - Nötsch - Hermagor
The S4 runs hourly between Villach and Hermagor every day
Line S5
- Villach Hbf - Rosenbach
The S5 runs hourly between Villach Central Station and Rosenbach every day.
Line S6
- (Villach Hbf) -Spittal-Millstättersee - Lienz - San Candido/Innichen
The S6 runs hourly between Spittal-Millstättersee and Lienz.
Line S7
- Friesach - St.Veit a.d.Glan - Klagenfurt
The S7 runs hourly between Friesach and Klagenfurt Central Station.

Please note that on ÖBB local trains (these are trains designated as S-Bahn, R or REX) you are required to have a valid ticket prior to boarding the train. The only exceptions are boarding stations where it is not possible to purchase a ticket.
