Due to overhead line damage and a related signal box disruption, train services between Linz/Donau Hbf and St. Valentin station are currently only possible to a limited extent. Some trains may be cancelled and delays of up to 60 minutes are expected.
As a result, the following impacts apply
- Replacement buses have been operating for local trains since Thursday evening.
- An emergency timetable has been put in place for long-distance services:
- Railjet Xpress trains are able to use the route
- ICE trains to/from Germany as well as night trains are expected to operate as scheduled
- Intercity services terminate at St. Valentin or Linz/Donau Hbf
- Westbahn is operating a reduced hourly service and is additionally stopping at St. Valentin so that ÖBB passengers can transfer to Westbahn services
Further measures have been taken to keep the impact on passengers as low as possible:
- ÖBB and Westbahn tickets are mutually accepted between St. Valentin and Wels Hbf
- The train-specific validity of ÖBB tickets has been lifted: tickets purchased by 17 July 2026 are now valid up to and including 21 July 2026. This goodwill arrangement applies to planned journeys up to and including 19 July 2026 and to the section between Linz/Donau Hbf and St. Valentin station. For night trains, the lifting of train-specific validity does not apply, as they are operating as scheduled.
For journeys on the western route, ÖBB recommends
- Check your connection before departure.
- Allow extra time for your journey.
