Either way, you will be enchanted and inspired by the beauty and expressiveness of the unique works of art.
LIGHT SOUND SENSES (20th September 2024 until 23rd March 2025)
In this exhibition, you will be encouraged to experience a variety of sensory perceptions. You are invited to engage with multi-sensory works of art in order to sharpen your own awareness of space, time, light, sound, taste and touch. The aim of LIGHT SOUND SENSES is to take a scientific-critical, but also humorous and artistic-aesthetic look at sensory perceptions, to challenge them and to play with them. In the exhibition, visitors encounter the pioneer of light art László Moholy-Nagy or immersive light installations by Olafur Eliasson, Brigitte Kowanz and Siegrun Appelt. A grand acoustic installation by Austrian artist Bernhard Leitner invites visitors to experience sound. The special thing about the exhibition is that you are invited to actively interact with the artworks. One example of this is Carsten Nicolai's work Bausatz noto, in which you act as a sound artist yourself. At a table with four record players, different coloured records can be combined with different sounds. LIGHT SOUND SENSES enables a deeper understanding of the nature of light, sound and our five senses.
