Barrier-free travelling

It is ÖBB's aim to allow all passengers to comfortably travel by rail.

As Austria's largest mobility provider it is ÖBB's aim to allow all passengers to comfortably travel by rail. More than one million people in our country are temporarily or permanently limited in their mobility. This includes disabled people as well as elderly or frail people. In order to offer this customer group suitable travel facilities, ÖBB continuously invests in barrier free access.

Domestic registration period has been reduced

A request - to reduce the registration period - expressed by people with disabilities is being implemented since 01.06.2017 with an initial step. The general domestic registration period is reduced from 24 to 12 hours. The registration period of 3 hours for trips between ÖBB main stations, two working days for ÖBB Postbus and 48 hours for international travels remain unchanged.
