With the Freizeit-Ticket (leisure ticket) Steiermark you can discover Austria’s green heart perfectly well:

Just for € 11.- per person you can take the train through Styria for one day as much and as often as you want. The ticket is valid on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays all the year. In order to get to the South Styrian Wine Road take the S-Bahn number 5 to the railway stations "Spielfeld-Straß" or "Ehrenhausen".

The Wine Road meanders through woods and vineyards. The scenery is perfect for a relaxing walk or a longer hike. Furthermore, the South Styrian Wine Region can be explored perfectly well by bike. If it is for a relaxing drive with the family or a demanding tour, there is a route for everybody. Enjoy the beautiful and picturesque and let yourself be captivated of an unique environment.

Even if it is cold outside, the Wine Road offers relaxation and a break:

Visit "Das Schmied - WellnessOase" and lean back in the sauna or be pampered in a massage.

Excursion tips at the South Styrian Wine Road

  • For gourmets: How is pumpkin seed oil produced? Those, who want to know the answer, should visit the Kernölpresse Resch.
  • For adventurers: The tirolesa above the "Eichberg" offers the opportunity to glide between the trees through the air. For whom this is not enough thrill try the giant swing with the free fall.
  • For epicures: Who wants to enjoy a beautiful sight of the scenery of the Wine Road should allow oneself a time out at the famous Steiermark-Herzerlbank.
  • For cultural interested: The castle of Arnfels provides a beautiful sight at the hills with its vineyards and woods as well. Additionally, every year in July the Arnfelser Schlossspiele take place.
