Following the severe damage caused by the extreme storms in large parts of Austria, the clean-up and repair work at ÖBB is in full swing. Our employees are working at full speed to repair the damage to the railway infrastructure. The new western line between Vienna and St. Pölten has been particularly badly affected by flooding and must remain closed until further notice.
Current information on the situation on the western line.
The good news: From 10 October, we will be back with a reliable timetable for you. This will make rail travel more predictable and reliable for you than before. With the opening of the second track on the old western line, we will be able to offer around 90% of our long-distance services throughout Austria. Nevertheless, we still only have access to half of the tracks on Austria's most important long-distance route. We ask for your understanding that for this reason there are still restrictions and longer journey times.
From now on you can check the correct timetable times for trains operating from 10 October on Scotty and book tickets for the temporary timetable (valid until further notice) in the ÖBB ticketshop or in the ÖBB app.
