With an ÖBB long-distance train, you can reach Vienna Airport quickly and easily from any state capital - directly or with no more than one change of trains at Vienna Central Station. A note for passengers travelling from Linz: the route Linz - Vienna can also be booked in combination with an Austrian Airlines flight via AIRail. Also, make sure to find out about the new Rail&Fly Austria: you can book a flight including the (return) journey by rail from anywhere in Austria to Vienna Airport through the sales channels of the participating airlines.
Starting with the timetable change in December of 2015, there will be even more direct connections to Vienna Airport. The ÖBB railjets and ÖBB Intercity trains are already running from Salzburg via Linz, St. Pölten and Vienna Central Station to the airport twice every hour. In addition to this, many direct connections from western Austria are offered approximately every 2 hours.
For passengers coming from Graz, there is an hourly rail connection to Vienna Airport: the railjet coming from the south of Austria will have a connection to the Intercity running to the airport at Vienna Central Station. Furthermore, there is a daily direct railjet connection from Graz to Vienna Airport and back. Passengers from Carinthia also benefit from an improved offering: every two hours, they can switch trains at Vienna Central Station, from the railjet from Villach to the railjet running to Vienna Airport.
