Together with the region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, the state of Carinthia is creating a new cross-border train connection between Austria and Italy.
The railway - the transport mode of the future - is also particularly important for tourism on both sides of the border. Furthermore, this project is yet another proof for the excellent cross-border collaboration under the motto of "Senza Confini". The trains are operated by ÖBB and the regional Friulan railway operator Ferrovie Udine Cividale (FUC).
Each train offers two compartments for up to 150 passenger, and one railcar is equipped for bicycle transport. This makes the MICOTRA trains the ideal complement for the Ciclovia Alpe Adria bicycle trail.
Make the most of this new option, and take an environmentally friendly, comfortable and stress-free journey with the MICOTRA trains to cultural-historical and culinary excursion destinations to the north and south of the Carinthian Alps.
