In front of the magnificent backdrop of the Totes Gebirge, the Almtal stretches for 50 kilometres from Almspitz to the Almsee. In the middle of a pristine natural region, the Cumberland Wildlife Park Grünau covers an area of more than sixty hectares along the Alm Valley. The virtually untouched ecosystem now provides a habitat for 250 animals (exclusively domestic wildlife species), as well as countless plants, many of which have become rare. An ideal family excursion destination where you can fully enjoy the natural landscape of the Alm Valley.


  • Hikers will enjoy the hiking trail "Genuss am Almfluss" (Indulgence along the Alm River) A part of this trail takes you from Grünau im Almtal train station to the wildlife park, a distance of approximately 6 kilometres. If you prefer a longer walk, you can also start off at the Steinbach-Brücke stop for a hike of approximately 18 kilometres.
