When the winegrowers open their cellar doors, it means that springtime is really here: on the last weekend of April, around 225 winegrowers from the Kamptal, Kremstal and Traisental wine-growing regions invite you to taste the new vintage. The admission bracelet for the Wine Spring, which costs € 20.00, is valid on both days. Rail passengers enjoy a special advantage: when purchasing an ÖBB ticket for the destination stations of Krems/Donau, Langenlois or Traismauer, they can buy a voucher for only € 16.00, which can then be exchanged for an admission bracelet with any participating winegrower.
From one vineyard to the next
Once there, you can take the shuttle taxi to and from the station as well as between the wineries for € 2.00 per person and ride. For those who prefer to be independent, you can also rent an e-car in advance (information at www.fahrvergnügen.at) or cover the often short distances with a rental bike.
Everything on one tour map
The tried and tested companion for your gourmet tour is the Wine Spring tour map: an extensive folding map showing all the winemakers participating in the Wine Spring. But it also includes the addresses of restaurants and taverns, as well as taxi telephone numbers. The free map can be ordered from the beginning of April under Tel. 02713 300 60-60 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
