Your journey can start at any ÖBB railway station in Austria, and you can choose your destination freely!
It is important to note that your trip must include at least one ÖBB long-distance train (e.g. railjet, ÖBB IC, ÖBB EC or ÖBB ICE) or an ÖBB Intercity-Bus, and the total distance must be more than 150 km.

Complete details on SparSchiene Austria:

  • The number of tickets is limited. Exchanges and refunds are not allowed.
  • The tickets can be booked a maximum of 6 months and a minimum of 3 days in advance.
  • The tickets are valid for a specific train, a specific day of travel and in one direction. Your ticket doesn't contain a reservation. We recommend booking a seperate sear reservation.
  • The special price excludes any further reductions.
  • It is not possible to purchase an upgrade of the SparSchiene Austria 2nd class ticket to First Class. It is possible to upgrade from First Class to Business or Premium Class by paying a supplement.
  • The SparSchiene Austria can only be booked online.
  • A maximum of four children accompanied by an adult with a "SparSchiene" ticket may travel gratis up to the age of 15. For this, they must be added as additional passengers when booking an adult SparSchiene ticket. Any further children must pay the "SparSchiene" price available at the time of booking or the normal price applicable to them for the purchase of a further ticket.
