Biking International

Biking international is offered for some trains from Austria to Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland as well as to Hungary, Czechia, Poland and back. These trains are easily recognisable in the timetable from the bicycle symbol in the rectangle with black background. The international bicycle ticket is available starting from as little as 12,- Euro.

Intercity Biking

Would you like to take your bicycle with you for a weekend or maybe on a longer holiday? "Intercity-Biking" conveniently allows you to take your bicycle and special bicycle* with you also on long distance travels.

In most of the IC and EC trains as well as in many EN and D trains, you can take your bicycle with you also on medium and long distance travels. Also cross border transport is possible on many trains e.g. from Austria to Germany, Switzerland, Italy (DB-ÖBB EuroCity), Slovenia, Hungary, and Czechia. All these trains are easily recognisable in the timetable from the bicycle symbol on a coloured or black background.

As there is only limited space available, reservation for such bicycle transport is compulsory. As ticket for your bicycle you will need a ticket for Intercity Biking. On the day of travel, this ticket is also valid as Regio Biking day ticket on suburban services.

Trains with Intercity Biking are marked in the timetable with the bicycle symbol in a rectangle.

As the EC/IC trains stop for short times only, it is particularly important that the bicycles are quickly loaded/unloaded. Please observe the following:

• Inform yourself about the position of the bicycle transport coach in your train. You can find this information on the train-formation indicators at the platform clearly showing in which platform section the bicycle transport coach is going to stop. The serial number of the coach, in which your reserved bicycle bay is located, is also printed on your Intercity Biking ticket.
• Please remove any baggage (panniers etc.) already before the train arrives at the station to facilitate loading.

* Special bicycles are tandems or tricycles for adults as well as children bicycle trailers. These can only be carried on trains with separate luggage compartment. Special bicycles cannot be booked online.
