VORTEILScard/ ÖSTERREICHcard: Issuing and renewing

Dear Customers,

Over the past months, ÖBB-Personenverkehr AG has been changing its technical systems in order to offer you an even better service in the future. Unfortunately, this has resulted in delays in issuing and renewing VORTEILScards and ÖSTERREICHcards. In the meanwhile, these problems have been solved (with only a few minor exceptions). Should you not have received your new VORTEILScard or ÖSTERREICHcard, you have the following simple option for the transition phase:

  • Did your VORTEILScard/ÖSTERREICHcard expire in November 2011 or thereafter?
    Please contact an ÖBB ticket counter in one of our train stations. There, you will be issued a temporary VORTEILScard/ÖSTERREICHcard.
    • If you have already paid for your renewal by bank transfer, please bring proof of payment with you.
    • If you have arranged for direct debit payment for the renewal of your VORTEILScard/ÖSTERREICHcard, it is sufficient to present the expired card at a ticket counter.
    • The temporary VORTEILScard is valid for three months and can be used to purchase tickets at the ticket counter, in trains and at ticket vending machines. In the meantime, you will receive your regular VORTEILScard/ÖSTERREICHcard by mail.
      In case there is no train station with an ÖBB ticket counter near you, we can offer you a simple alternative: Your expired VORTEILScard/ÖSTERREICHcard, together with proof of payment for the renewal, will continue to be recognized as valid until your new card is sent to you.
  • Do you want to book tickets online with your expired or temporary VORTEILScard?
    Then please contact the ÖBB Customer Service by calling the telephone number 05-1717. You will be issued a temporary card number with which you can book tickets online until your new VORTEILScard arrives.
  • Do you participate in the Club & Bonus Programme?
    Save the tickets you have bought with your temporary VORTEILScard. Please send us a scan of the tickets or a PDF file of the online tickets to kundenservice@oebb.at, so that we can credit your bonus points retroactively. If your ticket is eligible for a credit in the Club and Bonus Programme, your points will be credited to your account retroactively.

VORTEILScard with payment function!
Unfortunately, the temporary VORTEILScard/ÖSTERREICHcard cannot be used for payment functions. Please excuse this temporary inconvenience!
